The problem

Frostvale had sensors everywhere and alerts nobody trusted. A single open door could trigger forty notifications; a real failure looked exactly like a false one.

What I did

We rebuilt alerting around one question: what should a person do next? Alerts are ranked by risk to the product, grouped by cause, and routed to the nearest person with a handheld.

The handheld app was designed for gloves and freezer light — 56-pixel targets, high contrast, one decision per screen.

The result

Spoiled loads dropped by 44%. Alert volume fell by two thirds, and the team started answering the ones that remained.
